"If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it." - Mary Engelbreit
Even when you don't feel like it (me), take a deep breath, and keep on going! Maybe a change of scenery for a new view. Yes, a new view is good and it is always inspiring for me to get fresh ideas that make me excited which of course always gets the kids going. So take a different route, maybe a new adventure will ensue. I'm going to! TM : )
"If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it." - Mary Engelbreit I just saw a brand new blog that I already "stole" a link from to put in my Websites That Teach page. Congratulations Amber on sharing your knowledge and creativity with us.
Have a great weekend everyone! TM : ) Wow! Time sure flies when you have a full schedule. I must be a homeschool Mom! So tell me, when do you do your laundry? Tracy, what does this have to do with homeschool encouragement? I'm glad you asked! If you have lots of dirty clothes sitting in pile, hidden behind the door, then you probably were with your children at the library, or on a field trip, or at a math class. So good for you for having lots of laundry! And if you have just a small pile, then you did your laundry at 11:30 last night while the kids were asleep, you're supposed to be "off" for the day and your husband has a look on his face wondering what you are doing with a laundry basket at your hip and when are you going to get ready for bed as it is 11:30 at night! PHEW, talk about a run on sentence!
So, if you have a huge pile of laundry, you're an AWESOME homeschool Mom! If you have a small pile of laundry, you're an AWESOME homeschool Mom! Laundry or no laundry, keep doing what you do. It's working! TM : ) I came across this quote this morning and thought of those homeschool Moms that are just about at the end of their rope...
"When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place." - Author Unknown Keep going, look at how smart your children are. Keep breathing, and know that this time that you have taken with your children will never be forgotten by you, or them. TM : ) So I did an essay contest for the magazine "Real Simple" at the end of last year. The topic for the essay was, "I never thought I would be..." and fill in the blank with 1500 words. The results came in AND... I didn't win. But that's okay, I was up against 7,300 other essays. And the winner is... a writer! Okay, a playwright, she writes plays, not essays. The runner up? A writer too! Well, an aspiring writer. But you know what? Good for them, and I mean it too. Got to show my kids that I'm a good sport and if I want to throw a tantrum, I'll do it later in my closet! : )
BUT, I know YOU would choose my essay, as it is, shall we say, an extreme version of my start to homeschool and all my unique preconceived ideas of what homeschool ought to be. Enjoy! TM : ) These Shoes Don't Fit I'm looking for that famous pot of gold... be back when the rainbow fades...
Happy St. Patrick's Day! TM : ) “It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?"
~Winnie the Pooh As a homeschool Mom, let me rephrase that, as a Mom I want my kids to do the best they can. I'm constantly reminding them that they can do anything they want, anything they can dream up, they can do it. Be the best you can, be untouchable. I use these words often. We are our children's guide. Not just their teacher, not just their parent, but their visionaries for their future. We help them see the big picture. So think big and your children will too. Do the best you can for them and they will always remember that and they will follow your lead.
Abraham Lincoln said it best... "Whatever you are, be a good one." TM : ) |
